Sticky date and chocolate biscuits


An easy bake that you can make in the afternoon when you are feeling something cheeky with chocolate without the guilt.


Makes 20 biscuits.


Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of self-raising flour

  • 1 tsp of brown sugar (optional)

  • 1/4 cup butter or 3 tablespoons of coconut oil

  • 1 egg

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, sugar free

  • 1/2 cup pitted dates, chopped finely

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 3 tsp water

Method:

  1. Preheat the over to 180 degrees, and place baking paper on trays

  2. Mix all the ingredients and add one teaspoon of water at a time to bind together

  3. Make 20 small balls and place them on lined trays

  4. Sprinkle a tiny bit of salt on top of each ball

  5. Flat each biscuit slightly

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden

  7. Note: to keep them fresh, store in an airtight container for up to 7 days.
