Choc Bliss Balls

Something easy and cheap to make and add to any kid lunch box ... or big kid lunch box!

I am not like other food blogs where the "writers" go on and on and about the origins of their "recipes" that they clearly took from somewhere else or where they bought their coconut from a farm and tell your life story. BORING!

All the ingredients are from a supermarket. TA DA!

Seriously lets get to the good stuff

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of pitted dates

  • 2 cups of rolled oats

  • 2 cups of rice puff cereal (I used a organic one, if you can the just throw in rice bubbles but be aware it has sugar).

  • 1/3 cup cocoa

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons of butter/margarine (I used Nuttelex, my preference)

  • 1/2 cup of desiccated coconut for the rolling

  • Hot water if you need it for the dates

Method:

  1. Roughly chop the dates and add to food processor. Pulse dates until they are finely chopped. I added in a tablespoon or two of hot water to soften it up.

  2. Thrown in the remaining ingredients into the food processor (not the coconut), blend until well combined.

  3. Using clean wet hands roll teaspoons of the mixture into ball shapes. Then throw it into the bowl of coconut and cover it all up.

  4. That's it! Too easy. Just put it in an airtight container and should last 4 to 5 days... if it does.
